If you're an affiliate marketer you've been receiving tons of advice on what to do. The problem is, it's the things that you shouldn't do that will kill your business. You can do 10 things right but if you do just one thing wrong, you're dead. In this business, you can't make mistakes. It's that simple. Well, in this article I'm going to share three things that you need to avoid at all costs or your affiliate marketing business is going to be headed for the dogs. Hopefully, you'll take this advice to heart.
Probably the worst mistake that affiliate marketers make is in the choice of their products to promote. This is where most affiliate marketers have no brains. Sorry to say it, but it's true. They don't think. They mindlessly just head to the Clickbank marketplace, look for the most popular product that they can find in whatever category it is, and start promoting the heck out of it. Now think about it. There are hundreds, if not thousands of affiliates, promoting this product. What makes you think that you're going to get any significant number of sales from this promotion unless you are a super affiliate? You won't. This is your first and worst mistake.
Next on my big "don't do" list is the way affiliates promote these products. I'm talking about the ads that they use. This is where laziness also kills most affiliate marketers. The scenario is pretty familiar. You either write to the merchant of the product or go to his web site and get the canned ads that the merchant made for all his affiliates. So here you are promoting this product with the same exact ads that everybody else is using. Tell me, what is going to differentiate you from all the other affiliates if you're using the same ads? How are you different? You're not. And as a result, any sales you make are pure luck. This is another huge mistake.
Finally, you don't do your research on the product or the product creator. You'll promote anything in the world as long as it pays well. Problem is, if you promote a product that has a bad reputation, this is going to come back to haunt you. How? Well, if you sell a product to John Doe and he thinks the product stinks, do you REALLY think he's going to trust your opinion on a product again? He won't. This mistake can not only kill your business but can kill your reputation as well.
If you just avoid these three things, you'll give yourself a very good chance of being successful as an affiliate marketer.
To YOUR Success,
